The challenge
Bring together a small, congenial community of enthusiastic sailors who have a passion for adventure, the sea, sailing and learning.
Beginning in 2016, Diane began assembling a crew who would help her train others on how to understand the operation of Celtic Song and safely sail the world. The preliminary and growing list of events and destinations can be found here.
Additional crew will sign on for various legs of the trip, making their own travel arrangement to and from the boat. A more detailed itinerary will evolve as we get closer to each expedition.
Prospective crew members must take the required five lessons. We expect everyone to honor scheduling commitments. Crew will be evaluated on two categories:
Diane will lead a series of trips along the Southern California coast leading up to 2018 when she will spend a few months sailing in the Sea of Cortez before she sets sail across the Pacific to explore a world of islands and adventure.
