We made it to Santa Maria in 38 hours from Cabo anchorage. Used Jim Elfers book Baja Bash. We did not use the rhumb line. Stayed inside 2 -3 miles off land. When we went out to rhumb line half crew was seasick.
Approached Pt Tosca, in afternoon with large seas and wind. Boat speed drop to 2 - 3k. We ducked down into lee of land then came around. BSM anchorage excellent. Great Panga ride up the mangroves to the sand dunes, spiny lobster and oysters from the fisherman. We are now buddy boating with Val and Jill on their Selene 36 who we met in San Jose Del Cabo. All is well. Made water and transferred fuel. Leaving 0700 today for Turtle Bay.

nearing Punta Tosca N 24° 01.07 W 111° 10.70 - SOG 5.7 COG 328° 1300 (-6 UTC) Clear 1010mb 2300rpm4/19/2019 We are all feeling a bit better today. Yesterday after rounding Falso
we were lured out to sea feeling quite smug after passing Falso with flat seas. Mistake, an hour later it was miserable. We found ourselves in 4'+ rolling seas and the wind was picking up to 17 knots. Celtic Song's ship's bell was ringing. Ringing so much that I discovered this morning Francis tied her shut! Below was miserable, like the inside of a washing machine, couldn't sleep, couldn't eat and only Francis was feeling great. We should have paid heed to what we read by Jim Elfers and had one foot on land and one foot in the water. After about 3 hours of misery we headed 5 miles back to shore and all was calm. Finally we were able to secure 4 - 5 hours of sleep. Ahhhh sleep, restoration. Crew is amazing. Bonnie never did throw up. Jean was super helping Bonnie learn her watch duties and Francis, well what can I say. He still feels and looks terrific!!! Me...I'm doing much better. Currently we are blessed with flat seas and only 6 knots of wind on our nose. 30 miles from Punta Tosca. Hope to arrive at Santa Maria in the wee hours of the morning. I have told my crew that so far this is the calmest Bash I have ever done. CS is purring along smoothly, log book is up to date all systems are working perfectly. Downloading weather now. Just heard from Susie Campbell who has been holed up on Cedros Island for this past week that her Tuesday weather window just got shut again! I think we may catch up with her!!!! We are having an amazing broad reach/wing n wing sail into San Jose
del Cabo right now. Just received a weather report from Commander's Weather. Our weather route will be departing San Jose del Cabo Thurs noon. Arrive Cabo, anchor overnight and depart early morning. After a very bumpy night at La Ventana we decided not to suffer any more,
and hauled anchor at 0720 and are now underway to Los Frailes. Everyone is settling in great. And life will be even better when we get a good night's sleep at Frailes. Yesterday we logged in 60 NM, skipped Balandra because of the onslaught of tourists and powerboats. Motored through the Canal de San Lorenzo, and sailed most of the day down Canal Cerralvo on a beam reach with 14 - 17 Knots of wind. I am happy to report all systems are functioning. Makes my day. OK, signing off for now to raise sails. Wind is out of the West at 15K. All is well enough! Wonderful, friendly, happy La Paz. Successful provisioning - avocados, papaya, pineapples, melons, avocados. Lots of local yummy foods.
Untying and heading out to Puerto Balandra this afternoon to anchor and explore. Plan to go through the night to Los Frailes. Welcome to new Baja crew! Katarina and Francis! Meeting up with Bonnie and Jean in San Jose Del Cabo sometime on Wednesday and hope to tackle Cabo Falso on Thursday. The beginning of the Baja Bash! Pray for fair winds! Diane, Francis, and Katarina arrive in La Paz today to do final provisions and untie the dock lines.
